Liability coverage will be cheaper than full coverage insurance. It is a lot cheaper than that of full coverage insurance because obviously only one vehicle is covered instead of both vehicles in an accident.

The price of car insurance is very dependent on you’re driving record. Many flaws on your record can affect the premium of your automobile insurance. A non-moving violation does not affect or add points to you’re driving record.

A non-moving violation would be something like a seat belt ticket. In some states it is the law that you must use your seat belt when operating a motor vehicle. Texas is one such state.

An example of a moving violation would be a speeding ticket. The number of tickets you have directly affects the cost of your insurance. The number of wrecks you have on your record also affects the price of your auto insurance.

Driving while intoxicated and/or driving under the influence greatly affect the cost of your insurance. Moving violations do not stay and affect your car insurance prices forever. DUI’s do stay on longer than that of a speeding ticket, and can result in a very pricey premium.

When shopping for automobile insurance you should take many things into consideration. Shop around for prices. This day in age all types of insurance, car, life, health, is a competitive market. Driving safely and within the requirements of the law will keep your car insurance premiums at the lowest cost possible. Insurance premiums can vary on other factors as well. Age is one of these factors.

Be Smart About Car Insurance

Sunday, February 20th, 2011

Car insurance can be a good thing when it’s maintained as the law requires, and an even worst thing when it’s not. It’s just awfully inconvenient to have a wreck and not be covered. It can put you in a tight situation if you or someone who hits you’re vehicle isn’t covered.

About a month ago, my car was struck while legally parked on the street. I had the collision while in the backyard. Once I got up to see what happened, the lady was trying to leave before anyone saw her! As soon as she saw me running across the lawn, I assume the idea of her being caught for leaving a scene of an accident scared her because she pulled over quickly. She had her son in the car with her, and she stated she was taking him to get breakfast. She said that the morning sun had got in her eyes and she didn’t see my car parked on the side of the road.

Of course the first thing I started wondering was does this lady have auto insurance. Anytime I have a wreck, I catch myself looking at the person and making an initial judgment by their appearance if they have car insurance. Of course, she didn’t.

I called the police and they did write her a ticket for unsafe driving and driving without insurance. She called her husband or boyfriend, and he arrived on the scene and started telling me how they would take care of it. They didn’t take care of it.

Her not having auto insurance really put me in a bind. This happened in June. By about August I began to falsely threaten suing her just in hopes of getting my money. I could have very easily sued her, in that there was a police report of her being at fault and not having auto coverage. But that still wouldn’t guarantee me that she would have paid for the damages to my vehicle.

Eventually, around October and after numerous drop ins at her home, she insisted that she would pay me out of her income tax return. Amazingly, in late January, she brought me $600 cash, I was utterly surprised. However, since she didn’t have coverage at the time, I did have to get my car fixed. Thankfully, I had uninsured motorists coverage, and my vehicle had already been repaired.

Car insurance is a necessity when operating a motor vehicle. When I say necessity, it is the law! If you can’t afford car insurance, then you simply can’t afford to drive!

Tickets for driving without auto coverage increase with each offense. It varies from state to state, but after the third ticket you can lose your license. So be smart, get auto coverage, you can legally drive with liability insurance which is generally cheap. This insurance will cover not you’re vehicle but the other vehicle in an accident if you do cause a wreck. Be smart. Drive safe. Drive with car insurance.

Hail And Auto Insurance

There are so many different types of coverage’s when it comes to having auto insurance. In the winter of 2008 my vehicle was parked in central Kansas when a hail storm came in.

The damage to my vehicle was catastrophic. I mean it looked like someone just sat out and beat my car with a sledgehammer. It didn’t break any glass, but the damage to the remainder of the vehicle was just visually horrible.

It hailed so hard, that I literally thought someone was breaking into my dorm room when it started. First thing I thought was, “oh my car!” Do I have insurance that will cover this?

I had a wreck earlier in the year. I struck someone when backing out of a movie theatre, and thankfully I did have auto insurance and it took care of the situation with ease. I mean that’s why I give them money each month, right?

Well, thank goodness, I did have a clause in my coverage that covered damage to my vehicle caused by weather. I tell you that was a relief! I mean my car was definately able to be drive, but it looked horrible.

When looking for car insurance, always compare and make sure you are getting the best quote possible. Insurance companies and the insurance business period is a very competitive business. Companies are fighting with one another for the best price for the best coverage. Best bang for your buck.

These companies are fighting for your business and need you as much as you need them! One thing you should do after you find a company you feel best with, you should take some things into consideration. One thing to take into consideration is geographical location.

For example, tornado alley where there are a lot of hail and tornados stretches from Texas all the way to northern parts of Nebraska and stretching east. Oklahoma is a hot spot for tornadoes. If you live in these areas, make sure you’re auto coverage includes coverage of storms. This is usually a low cost addition to your coverage and can be highly beneficial if and when you’re vehicle is damaged due to weather.
